S.R. Mirotvortsev Clinical Hospital is a modern clinical hospital, teaching hospital, and medical research facility of Saratov State Medical University.

The Clinical Hospital has well-established traditions in teaching, patient care, and research. It is known in Russia and abroad. The Clinical Hospital is proud of its highly qualified staff: 18 Full Professors, 17 Doctors of Sciences, 65 Candidates of Sciences, 7 Honored Doctors of the Russian Federation, and 9 doctors with federal awards.

The Hospital’s medical staff includes more than 1 700 employees. There are 1 050 licensed beds, 440 of them pediatric. The Hospital operates departments, centers, and units of diagnostic radiology and therapeutic radiology, interventional radiology, ultrasound and functional diagnostics, endoscopy, MRI and CT diagnostics, rehabilitation and non-drug therapy, hemodialysis, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy; as well as nuclear medicine, clinical diagnostic, PCR, bacteriological, and cytological laboratories. The Hospital complex also includes an out-patient clinic and a dental care clinic.

The Hospital’s staff provides elective care, emergency treatment, and tertiary care to patients. Pediatric emergency care, inpatient care, and observation care provided for children at the Hospital makes up 80% of all the pediatric care provided across Saratov hospitals.

The Hospital provides services as part of the Program of State-Guaranteed Free Medical Services for the citizens of Saratov and Saratov Region, as well as the National Healthcare Project “Providing High-Cost and High-Tech Medical Care Services” for patients from different regions and republics of the Russian Federation.

The Hospital annually provides medical services and treatment to more than 30 000 patients, including 13 000 children. About 1 000 patients receive high-cost and high-tech treatment in abdominal, thoracic, cardiovascular, oral, and maxillofacial surgery, urology (including live donor kidney transplantation), oncology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, endocrinology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and pediatrics. More than 13 000 surgeries are performed annually, including high-cost surgeries like live donor kidney transplants, hip and knee replacement, and cardiovascular surgeries.

The research conducted at the Department of Faculty Therapy is focused on cardiology, with a particular emphasis on studying atrial fibrillation, acute coronary insufficiency, and arterial hypertension. Surgical procedures performed at the Department are endovascular operations of coronary correction, renal artery and coronary artery stenting, balloon dilatation, and pacemaker implantation.

The Clinic’s medical staff participates in international clinical studies in order to introduce new approaches in the treatment of arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and refractory angina. The Otolaryngology Clinic provides expert general and electroacoustic care and non-pharmacological therapies for the treatment of hearing loss and tonsil disorders. The Clinic deals with a full range of otolaryngologic, laryngeal, oncological, laryngoplasty, ear, nasal, and sinus operative procedures. The Clinic is equipped with the latest modern medical devices, a surgical microscope, an ENT-workstation, a fiberscope, an audiometer, and laryngeal surgical system.

Having close professional connections with pediatric surgery hospitals across Russia, the Pediatric Surgery Clinic has a tradition of excellence for its unique neonatal surgical expertise and skills.
